I am Southern Baptist, but I draw a line on religion when it comes to human rights. Spirituality is a beautiful thing, and I think it is tragic that we're allowing ignorance to manifest itself as superstitions about science. Ben Franklin, our premier founding father, controlled lightning and ended a seemingly infinite superstition that having your house or barn struck by lightning was a punishment from God. This ignorance about science and fact is only one factor driving people from spirituality, and most importantly, Christianity.
