I am absolutely disgusted by this following video. It is meant to be a teaching tool to some nurses but they are using improper anatomical models and not telling their students.
I wonder how their parents would feel knowing that the $30,000 of tuition is going on a steroid-inflated Barbie’s pelvic section. That is what we have here.
When those who are qualified watch the video, notice how the separator flap is missing and the secret place ‘magically’ opens so the baby can pop out. This is just all wrong and not science!

I have given birth to two children.
IT HURTS.
Children, unless born via c-section, exit a woman’s VAGINA after it dilates to about 10cm. That dilation process HURTS.
Luckily, modern science has wonderful drugs available to us to lessen the pain, should you choose to use them. Many women prefer to feel the pain as part of the childbirth experience.

First off, let me say that I am a Pagan and a Libertarian.
I am also a woman.
My boyfriend of two years now is a Christian.
We live together and peaceably respect each others religions. He lets me light the candles and incense on my alter, and celebrate my holidays, and let him pray, and celebrate his holidays.
We have decided to raise our child with exposure to both our beliefs when the time comes.
Earlier this year, we thought that the time had come.
I had missed my period, and I was bloated and cramped. This was unplanned, and we were about to lose where we were staying, and I was torn. Neither of us were ready for this life change that was coming upon us so quickly.
After thinking it over, I asked him what he wated me to do if it turned out I was pregnant.
Ok, this is the part where you probabbly expect me to say “He told me to not murder this christ-given gift”.
WRONG.
He said that he wouldn’t stay with me if I didn’t get an abortion. He just couldn’t take the responsibility. We are only 19 and 21. I then told him that in my heart I knew I could not destroy something so precious and holy as newly budding life.
I said this knowing it was painfull, knowing what it looked like, knowing it could possibly kill me if I had a bad enough miscarriage.
I wanted to let my baby live and give it to a family that could take care of it.
I did this partially for religious reasons; the Goddess gave women a beautiful gift, and that gift is the gift of life. Within us, new life forms and grows. This act is holy, and the purity that is created is holy as well. The other part of this decision was based upon my instincts as a woman. Deep down I already loved this tiny bit of life, though it was only a few cells at that point. As a woman, as a mother, I couldn’t imagine not even seeing my baby, let alone killing it.
None of this means I believe abortion should be illegalized. It just wasn’t the way for me, but every woman deserves a choice, although I feel that it should be a last resort. I’m sure all the women reading this can agree with me when I say abortion is never a pleasant or alluring idea. I think all of us would like to avoid it.
What ended up happening was traumatic. When our place of residence was no longer available, he left me. I went on to try to scrape together what I could doing door to door sales. I spent a while under bridges, and eating at soup kitchens untill a co-worker took me in for a while, but it was too late for me. The cold ground and the stress had already taken it’s toll, and I miscarried, quite painfully. I waited 8 hours in the emergency room, crying for several different reasons.
I’d failed as a mother.
My man had left me.
I would soon have no where to go again.
I was in excruciating pain and didn’t know when a doctor would be ready to see me, or even if I was gonna be ok.
My baby, who I’d sacrificed so much for already, was gone.
I was dizzy by the time the doctor saw me, but there was not much more the hospital could do other than give me medicine and make me comfortable. I left the next morning hollow and lonely.
Upon calling my boyfriend and telling him about what happened, he told me he would come back. So we found another place together. Jobs changed, and finances got better. We’re still together.
I just wanted to share that, perhaps show you that not being Christian or conservative doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a lazy, ignorant, baby murdering monster. It’s possible to aknowledge the pain that goes into the process and still want it. Many women find it to be worth the pain, from what I hear. I know my day will come eventually, even if my first was taken from me. I will remember my child every Samhain.

In any medical (Christian, Science, or otherwise) setting there are models that are used for simulation practice. No, not all models are 100% correct…but how else would a student grasp concepts of birthing? Those seeking medical degrees have to use models prior and cadavers before they can even touch a live patient. Already this video has lead you to believe that a woman’s secret area can somehow ‘dilate’ by 10 cm, and that will somehow allow a full grown baby to come out of there. That is not physically possible.
Metric measures are hopefully unfamiliar to you, and in their system 10 cm would not even be four inches in proper measures. A newborn is obviously far bigger than that and it would get stuck as it came down the birth canal and exited from the special parts down below.
Hopefully that helps you out and do not let this video make you scared of giving birth. It is nothing like what these atheists are trying to make it seem.

The real reason that they’re using forceps and a vacum suction is because there’s always a chance that the baby will become stuck in the birth canal, because of the fact that the opening is, in fact, only 4 inches in diameter. They aren’t abortionist tools, the only reason that I myself am alive today is because the doctors used forceps to pull me out, I would have suffocated in the birth canal if they didn’t, so don’t even go there about abortion. Hi Teresa. The anxiety you’re feeling is very typical of what I’ve heard from other pregnant women in times before. What you need to see is a good Christian doctor. Ask the people at your church for suggestions of who is the best Ob/Gyn in your local area, then go visit them. If your husband loves you he will support your decision and you definitely DO need medical help and counseling while you are pregnant.
I’m not a psychologist and I would also definitely encourage you to speak to a counselor or birthing center, or even send an email to Amber Cooper, which you can do at askamber@christwire.org. She’s one of the smartest women I know and counsels people on stuff like this all the time.
