RedditAs they scramble to make themselves not look bad after a near-terrorist attack, House and Senate democrats have ordered the deployment of a new airport scanning technology.
The technology is allegedly developed to give airport security personnel the ability to more clearly see the secret-parts of an individual, so that he or she may not hide new terrorist underwear bombs in that region.
After taking time to do personal investigation of this technology at LaGuardia Airport, I can truly say I’ve never been so humiliated in my entire life. It is sick.
The technology represents a way for cheap security to get their thrills by just taking a peek at our thingies! What if the airport security is a gay, just getting a good long look at where his eyes don’t belong?
I find this technology very intrusive. And since democrats don’t believe in profiling or doing pre-investigation such as wiretapping and internment camp on suspicious Muslims and their friends, ridiculous. Just because they allowed a terrorist into our country due to weak Obama policy and groveling, gives them NO RIGHT to scan our bodies in such a way.
Some liberals out there will try to say I’m exaggerating and there is no way that much of our bodies can be seen. you can’t complain that airport security isn’t good enough and then also complain that the improved security is degrading and takeing away your rights. you were the one asking for this messure now live with the consequences. or maybe you only wanted increased security for foreigners? yeah thats called racesim.

How do you think this will really help us with protecting ourselves from any attack. If they really wish you harm they’ll find other ways to do it and go about it. This is just another type of arms race and they will find a way around this to. You’d give up your privacy for this to feel safe until they find a way around this to. Those who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

i didn’t ask for it to begin with. i actually blive that terrorism should be fought in an entirly difrent ways. my problem is that they are complaning that security isn’t good enough and when they then get improved security complain it’s takeing away theire rights. you can’t just jump from one standpoint to another depending on what suits you best in the moment.

If security is THE issue then why isn’t the government placing these scanners at sport stadiums, malls, train terminals?……The almighty govt has done such a great job on security since 9-11 that this seems pointless…..and how about the radiation issue?….personally, any amount of radiation is too much for me. The TSA website uses these cute little pictures to demonstrate the safety of these devices. But are we simply supposed to accept this as truth simply because they claim it to be?….Do you think for a moment that the TSA is going to make any claims stating that these full body scanners are bad for?….not a chance. Wow. WRONG! First, the airport scanners were already “pornographic.” Second, they have scanners that DON’T show people’s privates in development, and they’re KIND OF EXPENSIVE. Not the perfect time to buy one if the world is in the middle of a recession. Third, You are a hypocrite. You must be insane. The scanners are about security. I do not like the whittling away of our rights either, but I do want to be safe.
If you feel so very “humiliated”, it is not because of someone getting a cheap thrill, but your own deep seated emotional problems, insecurities and ignorance. The technology is not sick, nor the use of it… only you, my friend, are sick. If you say that your modesty has been imposed upon, fine, that makes sense and is understandable…. yet,it is regretably necessary to “try” to provide safety for air travelers. And I for one care about MY (and loved ones) safety more than YOUR modesty issues. However, your feeling humiliated is a much deeper problem better handled by psychological counseling.

Being safe is a cheap illusion. Chasing after that will only loose your freedom. It doesn’t matter what you do as there is always a way to be attacked. Airplanes are just a hot point right now but if there is trillions of dollars and freedoms spent in securing them; what good does that do when the weapon of choice is changed?

I’m saddened that I wholeheartedly agree with this. There is no amount of outrage too great for this kind of loss of personal dignity. If airlines are this much of a hazard then we need to start phasing them out and return to boats and trains for our main form of transportation. I’d rather take two days to get somewhere happily then two hours miserably.
