This is the most ignorant article I have ever read about what it means to be friends with a gay man. If a girl falls into drugs and drinking and doesn't get married, that is certainly not the fault of her friends, gay or not. This article is repulsive and insulting.

She's happily married, with a child, and in the 1980s all of her friends were gay men. I'll have you also know that our family is still in contact with these gay men, and they are our closest friends. Our friendship with them is not shallow simply because they are gay. Straight people can be bad friends or good friends just as easily as homosexuals can be bad friends or good friends.
