The ‘hysteria’ died down, and that was it. ALL kinds of panic goes up when it’s first introduced, and as time goes by, it goes DOWN. Look at Swine Flu, or Scurvy, or *gasp* AIDS! It’s still prevalent, it just so happens that being better armed about a disease allows people to combat it properly. For scurvy, you just need vitamin C, for AIDS you just have to get tested and wear a raincoat in bed unless you’re bangin’ your wife or husband (AIDs aren’t just ‘magically’ created). As for swine flu, people learned that even though there were tons of people being infected, the death count had barely gone past the double digits because it was easily treatable and the people who died lived in areas where medical assistance was terrible. Seriously, over a year and a half ago people were going bonkers about it, and now people hardly talk about it. People are still being infected by these diseases, it just so happens that with information, people are no longer worried that much by them, at least compared to when they first showed up.

Numerically, it’s the heteros that have the greater chance of spreading HIV. However, there are two other factors here, promiscuity and anality. More about this later.

Again I was talking about AIDS and morality in America, and the West in general, not Africa. It’s apples and oranges. As I said, promiscuity and anality are the prime movers of AIDS. In America, these two traits are found together mostly in male homosexuals. There are promiscuous heteros too, and they are more at risk for AIDS than monogamists, but not nearly as much as gay men. Lesbians are also rarely at risk, because unlike gay males they are not as promiscious or into anal sex.

Africa is a different story. Due to cultural differences, promiscuity and anal sex are very common among all sexual groups. Bisexuality is more common. Condom use is “unmanly” and a “white imperalist plot” to depopulate Africa. These four reasons go a long way to explain why there is so much AIDS in Africa.
