Punxsutawney Phil 2011: Latest Victim of Evolution Hoax?
Feb 2, 2011 – Google searches for “Punxsutawney Phil” were at an all time high today as school children across the nation learned that he is the latest victim of the Leftist Evolution Hoax. According to evolutionists, the type of groundhog used to predict the weather is not the same species as Punxsutawney Phil.
Creationist Danny Faulkner, noted astronomer and contributor to “Creation” magazine states this is preposterous as Noah clearly had both Phil and Phyllis on the Ark and nothing has changed since.
While evolutionist site the 40% success rate of Phil’s predictions as proof of evolutionary change, many believe it is performance anxiety and dependence on the weather channel. It could be the 125 years of predicting the weather is getting old.
Clearly this is only one battle in the culture war Christians must face every day. The affront to values and belief systems that will last far longer than eight weeks of continued winter.

The realization of evolution isn’t leftist or rightist or of any political or ideological root. It is the result of hundreds of thousands of people seeking simply to understand how our world functions. Most people make the great mistake of attributing singular theories, discoveries, medicine or any other scientific finding, wholly to the person or group that published it. Any finding is more the result of every other scientist, whom over time have built our knowledge of the world to where it is today. Scientists are typically not well paid, not glorified and often condemned. They are simply people who want to learn how things work… and you all benefit greatly from them.
No one wanted evolution before evolution was discovered. Its only value is the value of truth, that is repeatably proven by people on every continent, of every creed, every religion, and every political tilt… every day.
Also, the vast majority of scientists aren’t Atheists. I for one have a strong relationship with God.
Finally, your “monkey” statement at the top of this page is incredibly ignorant. I hope it was a child that wrote that and not an adult. For those still reading, monkey’s evolved from a common ancestor, obviously in a very different way than we have. We didn’t evolve from current day monkeys…. if the author of that statement had read a 4th grade level biology book, he/she would have learned that… and at minimum adjusted their argument to at least be applicable.

If we are irrefutably discovering things about the world then I think we should start adjusting our views… certainly, whenever we have new information, we must take that information into account to make a more well informed decision.
example:
If you REALLY wanted to buy a car and you THOUGHT this car was reliable, then as you were on your way to buy this car, you discovered that in fact it is extremely unreliable and many of your friends say how poorly built it is, would you still buy the car, or would you take that NEW information and adjust your decision?

I for one think that science is beginning to PROVE that God exists, and the more we learn about the natural world, the more clear it becomes that in fact there is a God… The atheist-science argument is a pretty weak one if you ask me, and one that, again, is NOT THAT PREVALENT amongst scientists. It’s mostly people who don’t actually know anything about science that take a little information and run with it… kind of like this website.
