2011 Homo-Census Begins in San Francisco – Photo ID Required

The Homosexual Census of 2011 has begun in San Francisco. The entertainment commission has proposed that all attendees to any city public venue be scanned, photographed and ID’d as a matter of public record. The effort is in response to the homosexual attack on marriage and is funded by the Heritage Americans for Liberty and Prosperity, a conservative group.
The proposed census is not without detractors, including Electronic Frontier Foundation which issued the following statement reiterating some obviously minor side-effects of the census.
“Events with strong cultural, ideological, and political components are frequently held at venues that would be affected by these rules. Scanning the ID’s of all attendees at an anti-war rally, a gay night club, or a fundraiser for a civil liberties organization would have a deeply chilling effect on speech.”
Once the homosexual individuals are identified, the information will be housed in one of the city’s three underground servers. Concerns that the information would be used to track, stalk or malign individuals is unfounded and groundless considering the dependable nature of those in public service.
Unlike the nefarious Utah list of alleged illegal immigrants passed around in July of 2010, it is unlikely anyone would be using the Homo-Census for cheap day labor.
The purpose of the census is to count and appropriately allocate public funds for the area. It is not to track homosexuals or find out where they live and gather for the purposes of discrimination or approaching about their self inflicted abomination.

I should also mention supporters of the census should note: The Entertainment Commission will consider adopting rules concerning security at places of entertainment and one time events at its regular meeting on April 12, 2011, at 6:30 PM in Room 400, City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco.

There’s no need to make fun of my past use of the word “societal”:

One, the identification card shown at the beginning of this “article” is clearly Photoshopped, and poorly at that.
Two, should we have a census to collect the names and personal information of heterosexual people? Because, you know, if you’re going to infringe on the rights of one group, you might as well do it to everyone. Otherwise, you’re discriminating against someone based on a single aspect of their PRIVATE LIFE.
Three, homosexuality is NOT an abomination. How can it be wrong to love another person?

“One, the identification card shown at the beginning of this “article” is clearly Photoshopped, and poorly at that.”
That was the first thing I noticed about the picture.
“Two, should we have a census to collect the names and personal information of heterosexual people? Because, you know, if you’re going to infringe on the rights of one group, you might as well do it to everyone. Otherwise, you’re discriminating against someone based on a single aspect of their PRIVATE LIFE.”
Exactly. I for one would like to know if a man is heterosexual, because that gives me the opportunity to protect myself against potential sexual assault.

I think they already do that. Every 10 years in fact. Its called, shockingly enough, The Census. *gasp of shock* I know right?

//Concerns that the information would be used to track, stalk or malign individuals is unfounded and groundless considering the dependable nature of those in public service.//
Yes, because the information that will be in the hands of people who hate homosexuals and would have every reason to harass them in some way because of their disregard for the private life of citizens will in no way be used against them.
Sounds completely reasonable to give a hateful person access to information concerning the group of people they hate.

It clearly says Sample in the watermark. To use an actual ID would be putting sensitive information in the hands of miscreants!

I could tell that it was a sample license. It was remarkably obvious.
What I mean is the little “label” underneath the (sample) photograph, the label that says “Lesbian”.
If it was an ACTUAL sample of what would be done, then it is of TERRIBLE quality. Most people do not add those labels using Microsoft Paint.

Only after you were corrected did you proclaim this a sample.
This is only a sample of the Photo ID that the entertainment commission is proposing. Now we will know who the gays are and their addresses in San Francisco. I thought you would be against such profiling and gathering of information, but I see you simply want to grouse about the sample.
MeAwesome is right, you are improving.

As I said in my original post:
“Two, should we have a census to collect the names and personal information of heterosexual people? Because, you know, if you’re going to infringe on the rights of one group, you might as well do it to everyone. Otherwise, you’re discriminating against someone based on a single aspect of their PRIVATE LIFE.”
You’re going to put someone’s personal, private information in the hands of people who think homosexuality is an “abomination”, and you claim that nothing negative will come of that. That’s ridiculous. Such a proposition would, in fact, put the personal information of a (fairly controversial) minority in the hands of the very people who would DESTROY those people.

And maybe we should hand out colored triangles like the Nazis did. You know, pink for gays, yellow for Jews, red for Islamists, green for left-handed people, etc.
Because that’s where this would lead…

We need one for the Christians as well. I think it should be a shot through the head. That might make them stand out from everyone else. Of course it would also mean that they would be dead. So, that would solve a lot of problems in the first place.
