I’m not writing what every song means for two reasons, one is it’s 2 something in the morning, and two is some songs like “The Mortician’s Daughter” don’t have the message some other songs do, “The Mortician’s Daughter” is a love song written by Andy Biersack for his now ex-girlfriend Scout Taylor-Compton, it’s a very sweet song by the way. Oh, and I just wanna say this, “Beautiful Remains” is NOT about Andy having sex with a corpse, he wouldn’t do that.

“Knives and Pens”: Andy wrote this song about the two choices he had when he was being bullied in school, he could choose knives and be suicidal, or he could choose pens and write songs, he choose pens. If you watch the video the kid that’s being bullied represents him, all the things that happened in the video happened to Andy, he encourages his fans that get treated the way he did to choose option two, if they don’t write then replace writing with what they do to make them feel better, except doing drugs, he doesn’t encourage that.

“Never Give In”: This song is kind of self explanatory, lyrics from the chorus of the song are:
    “Never Give In
    Never back down
    Never Give In
    Never back down
    When your life feels lost
    FIGHT AGAINST ALL ODDS!
    Never Give In
NEVER BACK DOWN!” (the words that are all caps are screamed). Never Give In to the people that get you down, how is there something wrong with that?

“Sweet Blasphemy”: This song is my favorite from them, and I don’t really find it blasphemous. The lyrics are:
“Through sadness you have taught us, to be one with the crowd
Unveil the sacred order, hymns are falling down

You told the greatest stories, of love and bleeding crowns
But to the sick and hungry, you cannot be found

We are young and we are strong
Through strength in self we become
Something more than they can be
I raise my heart and say!

That I wont believe this lie
When all there’s something more inside
When darkness is all you see
    This is our Sweet Blasphemy

Silence the crooked holy, unchain the tied and bound
No time for allegory, one true reigning sound

Unite the lonely mourning, a simple servant now
We are the only glory, hear us screaming loud

We are young and we are strong
I raise my heart and say!

That I wont believe this lie
When all there’s something more inside
When darkness is all you see
    This is our Sweet Blasphemy

We are young and we are strong
Through strength in self we become
Something more than they can be
    This is our Sweet Blasphemy

That I wont believe this lie
When all there’s something more inside
When darkness is all you see
    This is our Sweet Blasphemy

That I wont believe this lie
When all there’s something more inside
When darkness is all you see
This is our Sweet Blasphemy”, so I don’t find anything wrong with this song, infact this is my mother and grandmother’s favorite song by BVB, they’re Chatholic.

Those were the songs from their first album “We Stitch These Wounds”, the next album is “Set The World On Fire”, so here’s the songs:

“Set The World On Fire”: This doesn’t encourage setting the world on fire, it’s telling you to stand up for what you believe in, my favorite part is:
    “Fight for all you know
When your back’s against the wall
    Stand against the liars
    Stronger than before
When your life becomes a war
    Set The World On Fire

    Proud in all you are
    Showing every scar
    As your badge of honor
    When you can’t take anymore
    Or what they’re living for
Set The World On Fire” I don’t find anything evil.

“Fallen Angels”: This song is about the ultimate outcast, the fallen angels were outcasted for being themselves, so is the band and fans. This song tells you to be proud of your flaws or as the song says “Take joy in who you are, we know our wings are flawed”, and it also uses a lot of terms from the bible, such as: “Cast down as sons or war” the battle in heaven, “Struck to the earth like lightning” the bible did say something like that, “We only want to be ourselves” they rebelled against God because they wanted to be themselves, “Follow the Morning Star” although the band doesn’t encourage following Satan, that’s what he was called. I know about that because after hearing the song I searched it, which made me search angels, which leads me closer to God, not a bad thing right?

“Savior”: This song is about how the band is always there for the fans as a “Savior”, the chorus is:
    “A Savior will be there,
    When you are feeling alone,
A Savior for all that you do,
So you live freely without their harm”, how is that bad?

“Ritual”: So this song is my second favorite, my favorite line is “Rise up an celebrate your life”, how’s that evil? It encourages you to celebrate the life God gave you, not to kill yourself. Ashley Purdy said “Suicide isn’t cowardly. I’ll tell you what is cowardly; treating people so badly that they want to end their lives”, this is a very true statement, and a lot of people are cowardly, anybody that feels like they should end their lives, please don’t, listen to this song and well all of BVB’s songs and you’ll probably feel better, if you wanna talk about anything tweet me at @JinxxBVBsVolin, suicide is permanent and hurts a lot of people.

Ok, so those are what some of the songs mean, and I wanna clear up a few things, the band members are: Andy Biersack (vocals), Ashley Purdy (bass), Christian “CC” Coma (drums), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), and Jinxx (rhythm guitar/violin), they are all male, they had a female drummer named Sandra Alvarenga but she quit and now plays drums in “Modern Day Escape”. They are all straight, Jinxx is engaged to Sammi Doll (photographer and keyboard/backup vocals in “My Satellite”), Andy is dating Juliet Simms (“Automatic Loveletter”), the rest are single (as far as I know), but they do support gays, lesbians, and bisexuals because love is love, not a gender. The aren’t emo, they’re them, emo is emotional, and people that cut and tell everybody and say “I’m emo” are wanna be’s. The band is sooooo nice, me and my mom met them in April and they were the sweetest people I ever met, they’re funny too. Yes, they’re atheist, but Andy loves religion, even the name “Black Veil Brides” is religious, he thinks it’s amazing to give a lot of things up for something you truly believe in. I suggest checking out the band if you haven’t already. It’s 3:45AM now so I’m going to stop writing, but I wanna say this first, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
