In this image, the body of former Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi is on display on a mattress in Misrata, Libya. This picture in a morgue was taken on October 21st. Moammar Gaddafi cannot undergo burial rites yet due to Russia pressing for UN human rights evaluation. Several nations who had massive contracts with Gadhafi are concerned Libya’s new government will not recognize the billion dollar deals and are pressing to have key figures of the Libyan Revolution pressed for potential war crimes in Gaddafi’s death.

Is there a reason why I as a female shouldn’t be allowed to view those pictures?

So, why do you have Arabic in your title? Are you a terrorist sleeper cell? I should probably let Homeland Security know of your involvement in terrorist plots around the world.

Claire,
The reason you can’t view Mo’s body is because he was buried at sea. His body was deployed onboard an American aircraft carrier where it lie in state until the ship was outside the 3-mile limit. At this point, the Ship’s Store was no longer required to charge sales tax and there was a huge run cigarettes. I digress.
Once beyond 3 miles, Article 134 of the U.S. Naval Burial Addendum took precedence, allowing the ship’s captain to perform the ritual legally, if there was no chaplain on board. Out of respect for Sunni tradition, Capt. Sullenberger placed a penny on the each of Ghadaffi’s eyes, then placed a strip of duct tape over each one, carefully avoiding the eyebrows with the sticky adhesive. The body was then coated with fire-preventive foam (of which one of its components is animal blood), a known shark repellant. The body was then placed into a wheelchair, then rolled off the fantail as the entire crew lined the ship and held a salute during a recording of ‘Taps’ as sung by Christina Aguellera.
So Claire, since any photographs would not have proven his identity, none were taken and we have to accept the word of government officials that it was actually he who was buried at sea, and not some randomly selected street-person used in a massive governmental cover-up to dupe us loyal tax-evading citizens.
