Minneapolis – The lead guitarist for heavey metal band GWAR was found dead Thursday, the metal rocker being found dead on his tour bus. The legendary riff-man was found dead following a concert, as the bus attempted to pass through the US-Canadian border.
GWAR manager Jack Flanagan reports Cory Smoot’s body was found dead and cannot confirm any cause of death at time of report. Oddly, no one knows exactly how old Cory Smoot was at time of death either.
GWAR is a band that’s been in ChristWire’s radars, it’s grotesque sci-fi-/art-noveau acts likely giving the mind of Lady Gaga acid-induced ideas of new ways to depict on stage homosexuality in his shows. Smoot had been performing under the name “Flattus Maximus” since 2002.
Despite Smoot’s antics, there is no denying that he was a very talented guitar player and the music world lost another very good musician.
