LaToya Jackson Screams and Michael Jackson Fans Cheer – Dr. Conrad Murray Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter of Michael Jackson

As the court clerk read the verdict, a woman’s voice could be heard screaming in the courtroom.  It was the voice of Michael Jackson’s sister LaToya Jackson screaming for joy as the Los Angeles Superior Court jury found Doctor Conrad Murray guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.

Outside the court fans cheered and partied, screaming in joy and hugging as they celebrated the news of the verdict.

The question is if the actions of Michael Jackson’s fans are appropriate?  The nation lost one of its top grossing pop-stars with international appeal.  Though Conrad Murray’s actions may have resulted from negligence, who is to say Murray really meant any malicious intent in his actions?

The cheering makes it seem like Dr. Murray had malice in his heart when he gave Michael Jackson propofol to comfort his pain and help him sleep, but how many other people were involved?  Did someone else give Jackson a lethal does of drugs and use Murray as a scapegoat?

Thesse questions are more reasonable to ask, especially considering that Michael Jackson was paying Murray over $150,000 per month for treatment.  Why would you want to kill a person who is paying you over $1.5 million a year?

Something in the trial does not add up and this should be a solemn day for America.  Despite all allegations against Jackson, he will remain as one of the pinnacle entertainment figures in all American and global history.  The loss of his life should not be defined and celebrated by the ruin of another.
