Brave US troops cheer as finally the Mission Accomplished banner is fully earned. On September 11, 2001, President George W. Bush vowed that the US army would smoke all terrorists out of Iraq. Only 10 years later, we have done just that.
The brave men and women of the US military have given their lives, time from family and sacrificed a great deal to ensure and protect our freedom. Say what you will about the politics of the nation during this time, but there is one thing that cannot be denied or joked about. The men and women who are in Iraq are welcome back home with open arms. These are the veterans of this generation and let us not give them the biased treatment we did the troops who returned home from Vietnam. Let the nation learn from the mistakes from our past.
