• Honor Student Diane Tran Thrown in Jail for Missing School

    May 28, 2012 10:32 am 24 comments

Diane TranA 17-year-old honor student in Texas spent the weekend in jail.  She cried and was jailed for missing too many classes.

If this girl was just another lazy high school senior who wanted to run around town, causing all sorts of trouble and messing up traffic with her naturally bad driving it would be one thing, but this young woman is an honor student.

Beyond that, this high school juinor has a full time job, a part-time job and is helping support her two siblings.  In high school, again, this young woman is trying to help support her family with two jobs.  There are full grown people too lazy to get off their backsides to cash their welfare checks, yet Diane Tran is showing amazing levels of responsibility, something many Americans have forgot.

Due to Tran’s work schedule, she’s literally just too tired to go to school.  She’s still maintaining an honor roll status despite not going to sit through probable mediocre classes offered at her public school.  And despite all this, the young woman was thrown in jail.  What is this teaching her?  Be lazy, go to a school class where public teachers get paid to teach you things you apparently don’t need since you’re on the honor roll with skipping their classes, then let society take care of your baby and all is fine?

“She goes from job to job from school,” Devin Hill, one of Tran’s classmates, stated to KHOU-11 in Tran’s defense. “She stays up until 7:00 in the morning doing her homework.”

And seriously, Tran is taking AP Spanish, College Algebra, Dual Credit English and History.  That is not a light schedule for a high school junior.   To add a sweet layer of icing to the cake, Tran was also fined $100.

If you go to HelpDianeTran.com, you can learn more about this young woman’s case.  If we are a true Republican nation, we should be rewarding hardworking youth like Tran.  It’s that type of attitude she’s showing which is going to make America great again.  She’s a hardworker, is excelling at school and working two jobs to support her family.  She’s the victim of an idiotic bureaucracy.

If she wanted to drop out of school at 16, be promiscuous and pop out babies, she’d be given all the welfare, free housing and free healthcare she wanted.  She would not be punished.  But yet, at 17, she’s being forced to jail and to pay $100 to take care of her siblings!  This type of thing is the exact reason America has trillions of dollars of debt:  good, hardworking people get punished, the lazy and unwilling reap the benefits as the idiotic laws and habits of this nation fuel and reward sloth behavior.
