Next time you choose a video to back up your beliefs I suggest you make sure that it isn’t mocking your homophobic and frankly outrageous views.
At 3:45 minutes in the two kids at school are actually mocking being raised by extreme religious families. They keep going on about how fun it is to be raised in fear. The fact the kids then choose to turn into a flying turtle and a dragonfly mocks the whole “gay is a choice” thing.
The wedding is even mocked at 5:20 it is mentioned how traditions are good BECAUSE they stop you leaning stuff.

I meant more of the concept of Christianity. Which, yes, upon reflection, would mean that it was the Jewish people who followed Leviticus. Apologies, I don’t know too many Jewish people who hate homosexuals, that tends to be a Christian sort of thing these days. Hatred against homosexuals is something I’ve started to associate to strictly just Christian people since so many in America who are against Homosexuals and use the bible claim that they’re Christian.
The point still stands, if you practiced the religion, you would only consider one type of sex to be legitimate sex, and that was the baby making kind. Anything else was viewed as an abomination and considered to be sodomy (oral, anal, masturbation, hand jobs, you name it, they called it sodomy). There’s still the fact that women were considered to be property back then, meaning that (even if the concept of homosexuality wasn’t that much of a big deal back then) if a man treated another man as if he were a woman, then he would have committed a sin. No matter how you look at it, the concept of what Leviticus said can’t apply to modern day society, especially if the New Testament overrides the Old Testament, which was what Leviticus was in.

Except it does, since when Jesus showed up, he dismissed the teachings of the Old Testament since there was so many barbaric acts and showed a God that was vengeful and full of hate, while the God in the New Testament is willing to forgive. Leviticus said that if someone sinned, they should die, while Jesus said that if someone sinned, they should have another chance, and the both of them said them in different books. It’s impossible to follow one without breaking the other, there are too many contradictions between the Old and the New, and if you believe that Jesus is the savior of mankind and you follow his teachings, then you must follow the New Testament. You can LEARN from the Old, and vice versa, but you can’t FOLLOW the other in it’s entirety.

I KNOW what the books say, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Old and the New Testament greatly contradict one another and that the teachings of Christ effectively dismissed the teachings of the Old Testament when you look at what he said versus what they were saying in the old. Jesus said nothing about homosexuals directly, and the CLOSEST, the most SPECIFIC it gets when talking about homosexual activity is STILL incredibly vague. How can that be true if Jesus told people to forgive and to love? Again, just because it’s an offshoot doesn’t mean much if they divert so heavily from the original text. You can build upon something, but that doesn’t make it the same as what you built it on. There’s still the entire point of who they believe the messiah is and so forth, if they believe in one, and quite a bit more.

The myth-making runs right through the whole book, from the creation story to the character of Jesus (there is, of course, no contemporary evidence that Jesus existed outside of Christian scripture, which is surprising given that the first century is one of the best documented in all antiquity, and he was supposed to have been pulling crowds of thousands wherever he went).

Wow I never thought of it that way. I never considered that although my family DID in fact come from all over Europe (apparently if me grandparents are to be believed) and the fact my dad’s side is Irish and didn’t flee the country despite all the hardships they are bound to have faced was something to be ashamed of.
I suppose another thing I shouldn’t pride myself in is that my grandfather was in the armed forces and did something to do with intelligence and as a result my grandparents my father and his 2 younger sisters travelled from a very early age to a number of very different countries (interestingly enough all born in different countries, only the youngest was born in England, but on army bases so all born British Citizens) and still all decided to settle in the UK.
My family history is rich enough thank you, despite them never choosing (choice is probably the wrong word by the way, forced to flee is more accurate when talking about those that moved to America) to leave their “rat holes” and go to the US.

Exbrony is one poster I haven’t fully figured out yet. He has an occasionally irritating habit of not pointing out glaring mistakes of the christwire lot, but will pick up on any minor mistake made by those that disagree.
He certainly knows the bible as he has on occasion quoted it. However he has never really expressed, as the christwire lot constantly do, that it is certain fact. Usually only quotes scripture when he is backing up something said by others or to point out the specific passages that people are referring to in a roundabout way.
He is probably one of the few posters you can get an intellectual debate out of. He is also one of the few you can reach a mutual understanding with. He also posts links to back up his claim. You can also have a pleasant convo with him without him quickly spoiling it with some bigoted viewpoint.
It is my belief that Exbrony, on occasion, likes to try and prove posters claiming to be liberal to be hypocritical as off the top of my head can’t remember ever reading an actual article where he has outright stated his stance on, instead he seems to prefer to debate with those that disagree with the article.

Prefer the mystery of figuring someone out to being told about a person. Most posters, especially the christwire lot, will bring up personal facts that will tell you a lot about their personality. Bruce may be the worst culprit for this.
