Toddlers and Tiaras should be banned from TV

Of all the reasonable people here, I want to let you know, especially to the mothers on here, it is okay to help teach your daughter proper behaviors for when in public (Saying “Yes ma’am, no ma’am”, Being aware of surroundings, not talking with mouth full, dress accordingly  {like no skimpy outfits}, etc.) and encourage them to be a little bit competitive. Toddlers and Tiaras is a perfect example of what happens when mothers do not do this, or take it to the extreme. There are 5 year old girls up on stage in provocative outfits meant for WOMEN OVER THEIR TWENTIES. This is obviously a show made by pedophiles for pedophiles. It is sick and twisted that the parents in the show not only accept this, but CONDONE it. Would you, mothers let your little girl look like a sex icon at such a young age?

It has also been shown that girls who were forced into beauty pageants at too young o an age show signs of (but not limited to):

Over-competitiveness

Low self esteems

Large desire for implants and facial reconstruction( not that its too bad of a thing, unless they’re perfect)

More likely to give their virginity away when still underage (We all make mistakes, but some just aren’t worth being made, although it is their ultimate decision and is not my right to intercept personally into their life, I would prefer to help encourage kids to remain a virgin at least until they become legally of age to be sexually active.)

I am not a mother, but find this show very atrocious and telling girls it is okay to be sexual at a young age. Who would approve of a 4 year old in stilettos and red lipstick strutting in front of male judges

Why on earth would anyone approve of this nonsense?

  • I always though that the mothers put their daughters into the beauty pageants to make up for a lack of popularity in their own past…

Such as, they weren’t the most popular or the best looking girl back then so now they try to live a life the never had through their daughters…

    Just my theory

    • I can’t stand how much effort they put in peacocking their daughters. it’s actually a little sickening to me. there is no practical use for proper make-up application or singing “America the Beautiful”

    • Actually, Ouro, I think the mothers were the pageant/popularity-contest queens back in the day but their lives have turned out to be soul-crushingly disappointing suburban slogs. They are simply reliving their “glory days” (for want of a better word) through their daughters.

The daughters themselves will probably end up on 16 and Pregnant in 10 years, and then on Toddlers and Tiaras a few years later. The circle of life will be complete.

I don’t agree with pageants for girls at such a young age especially when their only being judged for their physical appearance. It shows kids you must be the prettiest to win when in fact looks shouldnt matter.

  • I was in a few beauty pageants when I was younger and I don’t know where I would be without them. As a young girl, they raised my self asteem. When I didn’t win my mom told me that I did a great job and that I just had to learn that this the real world. Is there anything wrong with making a little girl feel like a princess?

when you read a 48yr old man and others of similar age telling 13 to 15 yr old girls (and that’s the age they tell him that they are). he loves them then he is a pedophile.

Would you like it if your brother, sister or son, daughter was told this either in the street or on-line by a man that is 30 to 40 yrs older than them.
so no I’m not going to stop either warning people or calling out what i see.
