A prep cook, Brandon Huber, for Golden Corral has come out with a viral video, detailing how a Golden Corral allegedly puts its All-You-Can-Eat ribs, gravy, chicken portions and other food by a dumpster during inspection. Since the time of the video’s going viral, Golden Corral cites that the manager of the store in question has been fired. There is no update on the status of the employee who posted the video, but if anything the kid should be getting an award and promotion for his guts in posting the video.
Eric Holm, the owner of the Port Orange, Florida, store where the offenses took place, cites that the food was not served to customers. Hopefully this means that the owner watched the viral video before inspections were over. Huber has not yet responded to our questions asking when he made this video and to see if the food was actually taken back into the restaurant and served to customers.
In a world where food safety practiced are under increasing scrutiny, the video is a timely reminder for consumers. You may not always get the cleanest of meals and sometimes you truly do ‘get what you pay for’. Perhaps eating in, especially during the rib heavy month of July, is not a bad idea.
