Teresa Heinz Kerry is in critical but stable condition. Sources reveal that Kerry was rushed from her vacation home to Nantucket Cottage Hospital, accompanied by US Secretary of State John Kerry.
Doctors were able to stabilize Kerry and she was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital, where doctors report that she is still in critical condition but stable. The 74-year-old philanthropist and heiress to the Heinz brand has since been joined by other members of her family at the hospital.
The State Department has confirmed Kerry’s condition and has also issued a request from the family, specifically: “the family is grateful for the outpouring of support it has received and aware of the interest in her condition, but they ask for privacy at this time.”
Kerry was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and since that time, has worked diligently to encourage women to receive regular screenings for mammograms.
