The Iranian Revolutionary Guard plotted to blow up a restaurant in Washington, DC.  The plans were to kill Adel Al-Jubeir, the Saudi Arabian ambassador to America, and spearhead a new wave of terror in the US.  According to US officials, Iranian military officials intended this attack to be a rally cry for terrorists as they enacted a ‘new era’ of endless attacks against random civilians in US cities.
