It has come to my attention that the FDA has made a demanding recall of specific eye drop brands due to serious and severe health risks. I came across this information in an article that stated the following:
“The FDA recommended the manufacturer of these products recall all lots on October 25, 2023, after “agency investigators found insanitary conditions in the manufacturing facility and positive bacterial test results from environmental sampling of critical drug production areas in the facility.“Eye drops are intended to be sterile, especially due to a heightened risk of infection” -Yahoo.com
The specific health risks have been listed and consist of:
- Yellow, green, or clear discharge from the eye
- Eye pain or discomfort
- Redness of the eye or eyelid
- A feeling of something in your eye (foreign body sensation)
- Increased sensitivity to light
- Blurry vision
